The Indian arm of the German cash and carry Metro, Metro Cash and Carry India, is launching a market strategy to focus on private labels to accord with local tastes, the information allowing this having been attained from consumer surveys and sales figures. The chain is to concentrate on staple foods and spices, with specific reference to processed and ready to eat foods.
